Google unveiled more details about its operating system, Chrome OS, today.
The browser-based operating system for netbooks has a strong focus on speed with nearly instant boot times of about 7 seconds. All applications will be web-based and run exclusively inside the browser. Chrome OS netbooks will not have traditional hard drives but will rely on flash memory and internet based storage.
The first chrome OS netbooks are set to be released in late 2010.
The Michigan Senate has already voted to cut film credits in the state's budget for the following fiscal year. Stating that the credits are costing the state too much money.
Businesses are not happy and made their voices known to a House committee at the capitol on Wednesday. Mike Manasseri told members that these credits allow young adults to stay in the state and continue working. The local Teamsters Union told committee members that these credits have put hundreds of people back to work in the state.
Possible Refunds For Michigan Residents

Large internet company,Vonage, may be owing some Michigan residents money. Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox announced yesterday that the internet company has settled in thirty two states to offer refunds following customer complaints.
Vonage is offering refunds but also changing its marketing practices and making sure that they take customer complaints seriously.
Customers can receive a refund if they were billed after canceling services with the company, if they attempted but didn't qualify for the company's cash back policy, or if they signed up for a free trial with the company but weren't told about minute limitations on their phone usage.
Women around the Mt. Pleasant area that are looking for some fun this weekend don't have to go very far. The Mt. Pleasant Area is hosting it's fourth annual Ladies Night Out Event.
The event gets started tonight with a "Not for Women Only" concert at the Veteran's Memorial Library at 6:30 pm. The rest of the events are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. Wendels Home Store on Pickard Street is hosting Ladies Day Out events from noon- 5 pm on Saturday and Sunday. The main event starts Saturday at 4 pm with gift bags being given away to the first 500 women lined up at the Broadway Theater. The bags include coupons for local businesses.
You don't need to go to the theater though in order to participate. All local businesses are open until 9 pm on Saturday and will be holding special deals. Local restaurants will be offering specials on drinks and food as well.
A five dollar donation will be collected at the door to the theater on Saturday to benefit the Womens Initiative Fund and the Womens Aid Service of Mt. Pleasant.

The bakery has been open for a month and they are already taking orders for the famous holiday pies. Kay Bessey, owner of the bakery, says that she makes any type of pie from fruit to cream. The bakery also sells fudge, hot chocolate, and coffee.
The bakery is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm and on Saturdays from 9:30 am to 1 pm. They are located at 124 E. Superior Street.
